Plant Adaptations
- Many plants of the tundra grow close to the ground to keep warm. This is true because the ground is heated up by sunlight, then the ground passes that warmth to the plants.
- Due to the short growing seasons the plants make the most of every mintute. They couldn't survive if they didn't use their short growing season to their best possible ability.
- Some very adaptive plants use leaves to provide nutrients and protection. Int the tundra the ground is very unfertile, so when their leaves fall beside their roots they consume its nutrients. These plants also use these leaves that lay beside them as wind blockers.
